Who is Qimera?

Qimera is an avatar I made in collaboration with my friend and fellow Reddit artist, u/_ships.

We went with a "chimera" design, wherein users would have to get both in order to form their respective complete/normal forms: a goat and a snake.

As a way to experiment and try something new, we decided to mainly follow Ships' art style. This avatar is also my first ever black and white avatar.

We really wanted to have "big heads" as these arguably look good and very noticeable in the comment section.

Stylistically, I was having a hard time with it because I don't normally make designs like these. I tend to make designs that are cartoony, cutesy, clean, and have a dash of either weird or suggestive. So, making a design that is arguably none of that (except maybe the weird part) was definitely a challenge.

Fortunately, Ships is a bro and was my very own cheerleader.

All in all, I'm grateful for the experience and really proud of the result. It definitely allowed me to try be more experimental (and make more black & white avatars).
