Retro Series:
90s Edition
As I researched more about the 90s aesthetics and tried incorporating different aspects of it in my art, I always turn back to two main aspects: the Memphis art style, and the Friends sitcom. Like most, I enjoyed watching Friends, and I still come back to it some times, while noting that it is a product of its time and that there are certainly some aspects of it that had aged poorly. Anyway, I wanted to incorporate those things this part of the 'Retro Series'. However, I noticed that cartoon versions of the characters are hard to emulate, so, in order to try to fix it, I decided to include their most iconic lines.

The Retro Series will be exploring 4 styles (as of writing this) inspired by the different eras. Each era will have 3 main illustrations, following the "row" in Instagram (btw you can check out my Instagram account, @Qugmo, it's where I post my illustrations first!). So, here's the 90s!

I'm really happy of how this edition turned out. I honestly learned a lot in turns of using the airbrush, and make my workflow a little bit easier and simpler. With that, let's cheers as the 90s had close and we're now on the new millennium! Y2K aesthetic, here we are!
